윤계상은 연기 인생 최초로 악역에 도전해 이목을 집중시킨다. 평소 깔끔한 마스크에 부드러운 이미지가 돋보였던 그는 머리부터 발끝까지 극악무도하고 무자비한 신흥범죄조직 보스 ‘장첸’으로 완벽하게 변신해 모두를 놀라게 했다. 또한 하얼빈에서 넘어온 캐릭터를 위해 연변 사투리를 배우고, 칼을 주 무기로 사용하는 역할인 만큼 액션 스쿨에서 꼬박 한 달을 칼의 활용법을 배우는 등 노력을 아끼지 않으며 연기 열정을 불태웠다. 감독은 “<풍산개>에서 보여줬던 강렬한 이미지가 기억났다. 남들이 보지 못했던 악이 나오지 않을까 하는 기대가 있었다”며 새로운 악역 등장에 대한 기대를 드러냈다.
